This challenge is strongly aligned with the University Mission “unlock West Indian potential for economic and cultural growth by … meeting critical regional needs …” – I am impressed by the ability of local developers to demonstrably solve challenges experienced by the stakeholder organisations.

UWI Lecturer Dr. Cathy-Ann Radix is part of the facultyteam responsible for teaching Embedded Systems, in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UWI, St Augustine. Cathy-Ann is a longstanding member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers IEEE (say: EYE-TRIPLE-E), and helped create the country-chapter IEEE-TT. Her interest in instructional scaffolding and its impact has led to research in the use of abstract writing, visual organisers, concept inventories, and remedial resources in learning and assessment activities.
