The first Bright Engine member is Anil Ramnanan of Sangre Grande. Anil has enjoyed solving problems and building things from a young age and was always interested in computers. His first business was a cyber cafe a long time ago, and then the market changed and cybercafes became less relevant and he had to close up shop. He learned that the tech landscape is always changing and you have to adapt and change with it.

Next is Sacha Beharry, who hails from Chaguanas. He was motivated to become a developer by sheer amazement. “I had never seen anything like it,” he says. “To me it is the purest form of engineering, creativity and problem solving. The combination of art, machinery and electronics was captivating.” What feeds her creativity? He says that coding is like an iceberg, it is an art on its own. It is equal parts problem solving and creativity.
